Teeth Whitening
Over time, stains and discoloration can occur on your teeth. Gray Oak Family Dental offers both professional [in-office] and at-home teeth whitening options to achieve the smile you want.
Professional teeth whitening is available in-office and delivers optimum results in a relatively short amount of time. Your provider will first place a protective barrier over your gums, then apply a powerful but safe whitening gel and monitor your progress for approximately 1-2 hours, based on the desired result. The gel will effectively whiten teeth but will NOT damage enamel.
spark aligners
Gray Oak Family Dental is a Spark provider. Spark is a clear aligner system used to straighten teeth as an alternative to traditional braces. Spark straightens teeth using a series of custom-made, removable aligners that gradually move teeth to produce a new, revitalized look.
Designed with aesthetics in mind. Spark aligners are barely noticeable. The aligners are worn continuously and removed only to eat, drink, brush or floss.
Treatment time varies, depending upon your specific condition. Periodic check-ups are required so your progress can be evaluated. Results will be noticeable as you advance through each aligner set.
Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are a good option for those looking to make slight position alterations, or to change tooth shape, size or color. A dental veneer is a slim, custom-made cover placed over the visible, front position of a tooth. Your natural tooth will remain largely intact with only a minimal amount being altered to fit the veneer. Gray Oak Family Dental offers two types of veneer options.
- Porcelain Veneers are a durable, stain-resistant cover that is custom-made to fit over a tooth. A minimal amount of the tooth is removed, an impression is taken, and a temporary veneer is placed. The impression is sent to a dental lab for fabrication and the permanent veneer is returned and placed within 2-4 weeks.
- Composite Veneers are made of tooth-colored composite material, which is individually shaped and bonded to the tooth, in-house by Dr. Dave Firmage. They are not quite as strong as porcelain veneers, but generally require less tooth structure to be removed, are more cost-effective, and are easier to repair if damaged.
With proper at-home care and regular dental visits, both types of veneers will serve you well for many years to come.
